Nurse practitioners have a great deal of responsibility when it comes to patient care. Because of this, they are identified in medical malpractice claims and State Board of Nursing complaints. Prevention is a core concept among nursing professionals. It is also the key to risk education. Nurse practitioner malpractice data can be used to inform and address areas of clinical improvement as well as improve quality of care and patient safety. The presentation will give insights into the most frequent and financially severe claims against nurse practitioners. This session will also include claim scenarios and risk recommendations to help create a safe environment for NPs and their patients.
