Title: Pain Assessment in Any Setting

Description:
This seminar targets new and experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurses practicing in any private practice setting that initiates treatment for or provides continuing treatment of pain syndromes. The seminar provides a comprehensive description of the required elements of a pain assessment, follow up visit assessment needs, both when a Controlled Substance is used as part of a pain management treatment plan and when it is not, special referral considerations, and compliance monitoring best practices.

Presenter: Dr. Kelley Pennel, DNP, ASNS-BC
Dr. Pennell is an active clinician specializing in pain management. In addition to clinician endeavors, she holds a Pain Management Expert Witness contract with the Board of Nursing and has a position with Galveston College. Her passion as a clinician is to strive to improve the journey for patients suffering from chronic pain syndromes. Her passion as a peer is to ensure APRNs are armed with the knowledge needed to safely treat those with pain complaints in any setting.

Learners will be awarded 1 Contact Hour, including 1 hour of Opioids, 1 hour E/J, 1 hour towards the DEA requirement. Completion of the course and evaluation are required.
