Title: Geriatric Mental Health Disorders

Description:
This session will cover the most common mental health disorders in older adults along with addressing risk factors for their development. Current evidence-based management strategies will be discussed along with pharmacologic challenges in prescribing for the older adult. The quality of evidence for complementary therapies will also be presented.

Presenter: Dr. Calloway is a family nurse practitioner and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and established the TTUHSC psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner program. Dr. Calloway has provided primary and mental health care in rural and urban areas and has been a nurse practitioner educator for over 25 years. She has had a private geri-psych practice for 12 years.
