Title: Dementia Assessment, SLUMS & Medications to Manage It
Description:
There is a significant gap in provider knowledge, confidence, and consistency in the early identification, screening, and management of dementia in primary care and community settings. Many APRNs delay diagnosis due to uncertainty in screening tool selection and interpretation, resulting in missed opportunities for early intervention, care planning, and caregiver support. This activity addresses the knowledge, skill, and practice gaps by providing evidence-based education on dementia recognition, administration and interpretation of the SLUMS assessment, differentiation of dementia from reversible cognitive decline, and evidence-based management strategies.
